Fall Jr and Teen Farmers 2 November 8 thru December 14 As Always we will play with, care for, and interact with the goats. Yoga, meditation, and mindfulness will start or end our sessions. Week 1 Corn and other grains anatomy. What is Organic and GMO. How the farming industry has changed in the last 100 years and why. Activities: popcorn VS liquid experiment Make cornhusk dolls Week 2: Birds, Bees, and Flowers We will bird watch to identify our local farm birds and learn how they help and hurt our crops. The importance of bees, why they’re so delicate, and why we would all die without them. Identifying edible flowers, planting, and tasting them. Activity: Dip taper bees wax candles. Week 3: Winter Garden Planning and crop rotation. Soil health check, remedies, and garden planting. Good insects in the garden and how they help. Activity: Create worm observation jars. Week 4: Farm Identification, Scavenger Hunt, and knot tying. Activity: Knot tying Mud Monsters Week 5: Crop Preserving, Drying, and Storage methods. Activity: Canning Fruits and Veggies Making flavored Vinegars and Olive Oils. Items children will need to bring; 1 quart jar with lid Small bottle each of vinegar and olive oil to flavor

For cancellations; please contact us 24 hours prior to booking time for 1-2 participants and 48 hours for 3 or more participants to reschedule. Private parties require a 2 week notice to reschedule. You can choose a different date if we receive proper notice. NO REFUNDS
